With that being said, on to the review!
(and a pic of my summer wall and a tag of questions! Long & exciting post, hhaha)
BB Cream is HUGE in Asia. Basically, most BB Creams claim to have the whole package of: SPF protection, whitening, moisturizing, and coverage. In addition, most BB Creams have a cold, grayish color making your skin paler (whiter) therefore, if you are too dark or too yellow, you won’t look very good with BB Cream on. In fact, you’d look kinda gross.
Excuse my unattractive hands btw.
on my yellow hand
I am now going to compare Dr. Jart+ Silver Label with Tarte: smooth operator tinted moisturizer (in Agent 06, my tinted moisturizer from summer time) and BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream.
Dr. Jart BB Cream is thicker than the BRTC one
Notes: This BB Cream is thicker so a little goes a long way. Don’t use too much or you’ll look like a ghost.
Blended and evened out on my skin
General face/skin info: I am not pale nor am I tanned. I am just your typical yellow colored person and like most BB Creams, this alone is too pale for me. I have combo skin.
Now with it on my face:
On my funny face. As you can see, it gives off a whiter color instead of yellow.
(I am wearing GEO Angel Blue lens)
Lasting Power: 9/10 Pretty good, as expected. Lasts longer than my BRTC one.
Coverage: 9/10 Pretty good.
Moisturizing: 5/10 No. It reminds me of a thick liquid foundation. It’s not drying (like my other BB Cream) but it doesn’t moisturize like my tinted moisturizer.
Whitening: 9/10 Yes. More like “Pale-ing”. If you want a whiter face, this is for you.
Oil-control: 9/10 Yep. Not bad.
Bottom line – Would I recommend? - YES, as a BB Cream. I wouldn’t recommend using it alone unless you’re a pale person. But it DOES cover up pores, small scars, uneven colors, etc. This is also worth the money because a little goes a long way with this one.
On an unimportant note~

I don’t even know what BB stands for, but I definitely am going to buy one. Haha.
I got more interested in the question and answer portion. Wow. So it’s Alexandra. Neat name!

And I totally love BB cream. I am using Missha BB cream. It’s good on my skin.

I’ve not seen the hunger games before but I’ve heard so many bloggers rave about it
! With the BB Cream, what would happen if you applied it if you were already rather pale? Would it blend nicely or would it just make pale people look even more pale? I’ve heard of BB Creams but I’ve never really known what they were for or what they did, so thank you for explaining in this review
xo

Great review, since my mom bought the BB cream for me I don’t use foundation anymore haha. X

I love the pakaging and the spf is really good, great review !

Great review! Never tried this, but since you have a review about this, might actually try it too!

I’ve been into BB Creams for awhile. At first, I was hesitant to try it, but I’m glad I did. The first one I’ve used was the MISSHA one (the original dark red bottle?). I really liked that one. Since finishing it, I’ve been on the hunt for a new BB Cream and decided to use the Skin79 one (the hot pink bottle). I’m actually waiting for it to come.
I would love to try Dr. Jart’s, but I’ll have to finish my Skin79 one before purchasing Dr. Jart’s. I wished I could get a sample before trying it out though, but I don’t know where they sell them around where I live.
Thanks for the review. I’m adding this BB Cream to my list to try!

thanks for sharing your review bout that product.. I love BB creams and I’ve been looking for other BB creams other than Missha and so, thanks for sharing this.. ~
I havent seen the atonement,. but been planning to.. I’m also about to buy the hunger games book but it’s out of stock.. hopefully next week, I could grab my copy T_T

Agreed about kpop *dies*
I might do this meme on my next post! Loving your blog!!

Thanks for the review! I’m thinking of buying a few bb creams to test out, so I might put this on the list. I think it suits your skin tone well.

Oh BB cream! I am currently using Missha’s BB cream but I would love to try this one out when that one gets depleted XD.
I love your pictures XD. I did think there was something different about your eyes…then I saw that you said you were wearing those blue lens…very cool XD.
Thanks for the tag…I will do it in my next post hehe. I had fun reading your answers! I love your summer wall ^o^

I’ve heard so many incredible things about BB cream, so thanks for this review! I’ve been meaning to buy some for forever, but haven’t yet gotten around to it!
[Reply]
I think your skin color is a bit paler than mine, but I’ve been waiting for a review for this BB cream
Btw, do you know if this is similar to the Dr. Jart+ they sell at Sephora? I looked on the website and I don’t think they have this specific one, but they do carry like 2 other versions from the same company.
Omg! That summer wall!! I need one!!! Did you put it up when you were doing your cleaning? Haha, it’s so inherent, you know when to start cleaning for Chinese New Year! Happy Chinese New Year!! 恭喜发财!
I answered your questions!
[Reply]
Looking good, your skin looks great! I also have realized that you must be pale to wear BB cream (sadly!) xx
[Reply]
I swear we only have like one BB cream in Australia, unless you order online. I’m yet to try it out but when I do I will totally do the tag! I’m not sure if I fall under the pale or not pale category…hahaha
[Reply]
I wish I could also try those expensive products like that one hahah I am not really into the girly stuff, so I haven’t tried any cosmetics or creams, whatsoever. hehe.
Oh yea, I know that tag. I’ve been tagged with that too
[Reply]
I wish this product was more moisturizing…
My skin’s been through hell and back these two weeks that I’ve been to Ottawa. Moving from -30C to 25C every day is torture for my dry, sensitive skin.
I’m still trying to find THE winter moisturizer… that won’t blow my budget.
Happy lunar new year btw!
Luck and best wishes,
Haruka

I heard a lot of good things about BB creams ~ though I still haven’t finished with my Lancome foundation yet (which I rarely use because I’m quite lazy in putting on make up in general). I think it would be on my next foundation list once I run out

haha, you are so right about BB cream being really popular in Asian. But I haven’t got down to using one yet. Those I tried are just too pink for my yellow skin. So guess I’ll still stick to my moisturizer, sunscreen and foundation routine.
Anyway, Happy CNY ladies!

I think I am too dark so this is probably not for me. Since it’s manufactured in Korea it’s probably purposely meant for people with light skin.
It’s true that K-pop is very uncool because everyone listens to it. But based on that statement, there are a number of other things that can be uncool. Such as fashion trends.
And I’ve never seen any Asian girls with un-styled boring black hair and glasses. Asian girls I’ve seen have amazing, un-trendy fashion, and curly brown hair.

I seriously think your skin is so perfect! but Idk why BB creams always come in snow white colors?! whyyyyyyyyyy. I just want one in my color so i don’t have to mix it with something else. and i have sort of the same problem with my eyes except it’s just one eyelid is fatter than the other. I have to use tape every night to keep them even D:
[Reply]
Thanks for the review – too bad the cream isn’t too moisturizing!
My eyelids are slightly asymmetrical too!

If that cream has SPF 35 and it whitens the skin, I gotta have one of those XD! It sounds perfect for me
. I got really dark over the winter break and it sucks :c. It works with you ;D
Ooh I understand ya when everyone gets into one thing. That’s like one of the reasons why I don’t like to.. Express everything ’bout myself. Because people then starts getting into the things I’m in to. I even have a stalker who even tried copying my personal trends :c.
I don’t have a favorite book. The essential item in my wardrobe is probably my wallet. o__o. My number 1 on my wishlist is to buy that $30000 bassoon
. Ramen is a lot better.
I would definitely use BB Cream. It’s not as worn out as the other creams people use. It seems natural if you ask me.
Take care
!

I love BB cream, especially those with SPF!
[Reply]
i’ve never tried bb cream but a friend of mine loves this brand!
[Reply]
I didn’t really know about BB creams until your review, haha. I like your comparison photos with the different creams! That’s cool that it covers up uneven colors. I might have to look into that
[Reply]
Regarding your eyes, I’d say it’s just the way you are!
I know I have one leg that’s actually kind of crooked.
“I do everything in my power to avoid looking like those plain Asian girls with unstyled boring black hair and glasses.” I almost feel sad seeing so many Asian girls look so plain and I think, why can’t they style up and look different, even get their hair cut in a non-boring fashion? D:
I’m pretty pale. I don’t think I would really benefit from this cream. It looks lovely on your skin though
[Reply]
^___^ thank you for doing the tag! I enjoyed learning more about you
I can’t believe you have no favorite food! It is seriously a very important question–personally to me anyways LOL XD It’s so strange to me because I live for yummy food ^^; I’ve never been into Kpop, but I’ve seen the crazyness around it. (crazy fans)
I’ve tried that exact BB cream several years ago when it first came out. I didn’t really like it because at that time there seem to have a weird grey cast to it and felt kind of heavy (though, I think it was mostly my fault because I apply too much). I didn’t like it in the end. It made me look sick lol XD
[Reply]
I’ve never heard of this cream before. Because I tend to be pretty dark (I’m Italian and Greek) I don’t know if it would work for me, but it seems like a great product. It actually reminds me of a primer I use to reduce redness on my cheeks/forehead/eyes because I also have combo skin like you do–so finding something that keeps my skin looking fresh AND doesn’t make me shiny is a big challenge, haha. I also think it’s interesting how I always want to be darker (tanner) and some people want to actually look pale.
[Reply]
I am always looking for new creams to try so thanks for sharing about Dr.Jart+ Silver Label BB Cream! I also enjoy reading tags because I learn so much.
P.S. Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you support Give Jewelry! As for ‘The Hunger Games’ trilogy, I’m glad you loved it! I almost cried too. It was so good and I’m sure the movies will be amazing. <3
Lots of love, B
